Providing Sustainable Ingredients Tailored to Customer Needs
Our Group-wide SARVAL and Bioceval activities focus on converting animal by-products from the meat and fish industry into proteins, fats and oils as nutrient-rich ingredients for the pet food, aquafeed and feed industries as well as for oleochemical and biofuels markets worldwide. These two areas are combined in our cross-country division Sinova, which supplies naturally sustainable products that have great potential to significantly reduce the carbon footprint of the value chain.
Contributing to the Well-being of People, Animals and Plants
Our Food & Pharma division creates value from natural animal-based materials, offering a wide range of products for the diet and health of all living beings. With a complementary portfolio of natural and collagen-based casings, Van Hessen and Devro are leading product experts for the sausage industry. The life science company Bioiberica produces active ingredients for humans, animals and plants from input material it receives from Van Hessen. Food & Pharma is characterized by interconnected value chains, decades of shared market expertise and a unifying spirit of innovation.

Our Organics2Power (O2P) division is taking pioneering approaches to collecting and converting organic materials into alternative fuels and fertilizers. SecAnim, ReFood and ecoMotion are driven by the conviction that there are ecological and economic values even in organic materials that would otherwise go to waste. By collecting and reusing them in innovative and safe ways, they make a vital contribution to fighting climate change and resource scarcity.
