Expanding horizons in Asia

Thailand leads the world in pet food exports and with Southeast Asia emerging as one of the most dynamic markets in the industry, it was the right moment to get even closer.

Tim Schwencke, co-CEO of the SARIA Group, spent several days in Bangkok to strengthen long-standing partnerships and explore new market opportunities. The Group’s sales office in Bangkok serves as the central hub for managing its growing network of customers and business partners across Asia.

A key highlight of the trip was the visit to Pet Fair Asia, one of the region’s leading trade fairs for the pet industry. For SARIA’s business units SARVAL and Bioceval, which supply high-quality ingredients for the pet food and feed sectors, the event offered valuable insights into emerging trends, innovative ingredients, and new technologies. Engaging discussions with partners and exhibitors provided fresh inspiration for future collaborations and new opportunities to further expand SARIA’s presence in Asia.

Beyond the fair, Tim also visited facilities of long-standing SARIA partners, met with Asian distribution partners, and held meetings with SARIA’s sister company Rhenus Logistics, which also has an office in Bangkok. These personal encounters highlighted how business and trust are shaped in the region and underscored the strategic importance of the Asian market for SARIA’s ongoing global growth strategy. Today, roughly one-third of SARVAL’s dry ingredients production is exported from Europe to Asia, reflecting a stable and trusted partnership zone.

“Asia represents a new horizon for us – a dynamic market full of opportunities, innovation, and long-term partnerships,” said Tim Schwencke. The direct exchange with partners on site reaffirmed SARIA’s commitment to further strengthening its presence in the region.

Overall, the trip was a great success and an important step in expanding SARIA’s international presence and unlocking new business potential for the Group.
