New ReFood site opened in Poland

On September 5, the new ReFood site in Mszczonów (Poland) near Warsaw was officially opened. The opening ceremony was attended by the governing mayor of Mszczonów and the local press, as well as the responsible SARIA Board member Nicolas Rottmann. Norbert Rethmann, Honorary Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the RETHMANN Group, was also there and emphasized the importance of responsible handling of organic residues and food leftovers: “Today, there is more and more debate about the need for rational resource management. At the same time, we have to keep in mind that it is necessary to establish companies dedicated to this task. One of these companies is opened here today.”

ReFood specializes in collecting and processing organic food residues to produce renewable energy like biogas and eco-electricity. With a well-developed logistics network of collection and processing sites, ReFood operates in various European countries. With the new site in Mszczonów, ReFood has five sites in Poland.
